She is so iconic that even people that don’t care about photography seem to know who she is. That’s why this video is so cool. The other day, David Bickley wrote a fantastic article on 365 projects. In the article he made some great points about how the project will sharpen the photographer’s skills and even lead to work. For me, it seems like hurricane Sandy was forever ago. Then again I live in Las Vegas, and I wasn’t affected by it. Talking to friends and family back east though, it’s a different story. Vogue is catching a lot of heat from angry readers, saying that their latest fashion shoot by Annie Leibovitz is exploiting and profiting off of the recent natural disaster.

Annie Leibovitz, who got her start with Rolling Stone Magazine and is more recently one of the most sought-after commercial photographers, is asking $33 million for a massive 10,202-square-foot property in NYC. In 2007, Leibovitz put her entire work (and future work) up as collateral for a $24 million loan to help pay off some of her debt. Some photos of Olympic sensation Michael Phelps have risen online that could land the swimmer in hot water. The photos by Annie Leibovitz for Louis Vuitton were leaked on the Internet late last week, violating the International Olympic Committee’s controversial Rule 40, which states athletes can’t promote any non-Olympic sponsors from July 18 to August 15. It relieves me to find that there are some commissioned photographs that don’t make me cringe, but rather put a smile on my face.
