Artist Turns Models’ Faces Into Optical Illusions With Makeup
I’ve long been a big supporter of photographers that seek to achieve their look in camera and not rely much on post production. In this 2-D makeup series by photographer Alexander Khokhlov, he created optical illusions in camera with perspective and great makeup. Simply stellar work.
This series is the work of both Alexander and a Moscow makeup artist Valeriya Kutsan. In this series called 2D or not 2D, they tried to create 2D images on the faces of models using perspective and amazing makeup creativity to sell the shot. From sketches to oil paintings to the look of a graphic novel, these two have done a stellar job to create a unique look in camera.
