Arrowhead: Signal – A $600 Sci-Fi Short Film

Having the opportunity to work on Rubidium Wu’s The Silent City I’ve become very intrigued inspired by all the great independent film makers out there who are taking full advantage of accessible technologies like the Canon 5D Mark II. The latest of which, Arrowhead: Signal, by writer/directed Jesse O’Brien was made for a ballpark figure of 600 bucks. If you don’t include the T4i, 5DMII setup and 3 years of invested time they appear to have used. But still how many of us have a kick ass [more]

Von Wong Photographs a Body Painted Nude, Suspended from Chains

Check out this video featuring Montreal stripper Suntory as he was painted up, greased up and strung up. The body paint by MUA Jessica Renahan used a blend of petroleum jelly, acrylic, oil paint and charcoal, creating an amazing obsidian/metallic sheen. Couple that with Benjamin’s usual creativity, dedication and talent and you get some wicked results. [more]

A Sci-Fi Short that Looks at Our Obsession with Digital Content and Social Media

Armed with a Canon 5D Mark II, After Effects, CS5, Color Finesse, Sapphire and Final Cut, director Francois Ferracci turns out a striking short film that looks at the direction of social media and digital content. There are quite a few messages that you can take away from “Lost Memories” but the one that hits home for me is how it reflects our future current state of social interaction and how we can so easily get caught up in sharing our moments that we forget to actually experience them. Hula Hoop + Cam + Duct Tape + the Women of Burning Man = Gorgeous

I’ll no doubt take some heat for this video but you know what?… It’s worth it. Filmed and edited by Rob Volkel (Hula Fantastica), this video captures the POV (point of view) from a hula hoop as it makes it’s way around some of the women at Burning Man. The result is a gorgeous, upbeat and fun video. Is it sexy? Hell ya. Is it sexy enough for a NSFW? Maybe. But one thing for sure is [more]

Camera/video tech is becoming ever more sophisticated to the point where we now have cameras that can recognize and track faces. BTSV: The Girls of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Shoot

I am an old school Tekken fan. There was a time when I could compete against my little brother, one handed while only watching his controller. Back then my true loves were photography and the obscenely hot girls of Tekken. So you can imagine my excitement when they put out a quick BTSV for the upcoming release of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 featuring the girls of Tekken. [more]

Self taught German photographer Klaus Kampert is no stranger to the female form as his work boast amazingly beautiful and tasteful female nudes. His main interest is people-photography, focussing on beauty, portrait, nudes and dance. Although his site is filled with great work, I pulled these shots from his “Wrapped” series because of it’s use of a simple length of fabric to create unique poses. [more]
