I'm a commercial photographer and director of photography for a local ad agency in the border town of McAllen, Texas. I like to experiment with light and try anything new when it comes to strobist photography. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, playing World of Warcraft, and shooting concerts (Electronic Dance Music/ DJs). I am always lurking somewhere on Facebook, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me.

Behind The Scenes: Bringing The Toy Box To Life

Follow The Mill Visual Effects Studio, a leading CGI and special effects global company as they walk you through the Norfolk Southern campaign, “City of Possibilites’. Computer generated imagery has always astounded me in how much processing it takes to get the final result. The great folks at the Mill explain how they the start by conceptualizing each character then moving on to shooting the live action scenes, and then finally blending the final animations into the scenes flawlessly. Behind The Scenes: Shooting The Master Of Horror

John Carpenter. His name is synonymous with fear. The films he has made in the last 40 years has been the cause of both delight and terror in several generations. ‘The Thing’ used to have me scrambling under the covers at night during my childhood while ‘Big Trouble in Little China’ had me laughing at jokes I was still too young to understand. Follow Kyle Cassidy as he photographs John Carpenter in the author’s music room for his series of fantasy and science fiction writers in their creative spaces called: Where I Write. [more]

A Bird’s Eye View of Aerial Cinematography

Aerial Cinematography has always been a fascination of mine. Aerial shots tend to easily blow away normal stationary ground shots I find, but I’ve always wondered how people achieved such amazing footage and what they used. Follow Josh Lambeth from Birds Eye Productions as he sits down along with his crew and explains exactly what they use and how they use it to gain access to the sky and have their cameras airborne. A cinematographer’s job is to bring the director’s vision of a story to life. A hard, but rewarding job indeed. The Art Of Motion Mixing: BTS With V Energy Drink

Music and visual components have always been used together as a form of art, most famously in the music video. As technology expands so does the way we use it for expression. Encierro: The 2012 Running Of The Bulls

A time honored tradition in Spain, the running of the bulls or Encierro  has only three days left until it wraps on July 14th. The seven day festival of San Fermín in Pamplona is the largest and most popular of the Encierros. Several thousand people attend the runs, causing the passageways to be very cramped. I would imagine that photographers covering the event have little or no room to move. Below are a few amazing shots taken in the past few days.  [more]
