Of course the issue then becomes if it’s a watermark that could easily be cropped / cloned out or not, and if you see watermarks as protection or marketing.

Often have to use google image reverse search to find out. Hell, one of my portraits got posted by a big tumblr blog and got close to 5000 reblogs.
