Behind The Scenes Shooting BMX And Lifestyle Photos In South Africa

Nikon Pro Photographer Craig Kolesky went to Capetown and packed in his bag not only the Nikon D4, but their Coolpix P7700. His subject for the shoot was Redbull Athlete Sifiso Nhlapo, a BMX racer from the South African Olympic team. In this video, you can see Craig working in various environments, from dirty racing tracks to a small studio setting with ring lights.

Craig's workhorse for action shots was the Nikon D4, but he also put the Coolpix camera through it's paces as well to see how it would hold up. At the end of the video are a few samples that show his final stills. It's pretty hard to compare $400 camera to the D4, which is about $6,000, but the results show that the stills from the Coolpix aren't that bad at all. Yet another example of how with good lighting and a keen eye, quality images are possible with almost any system.
