Two things: these are unflattering? Is it the world’s image or her personal self image that has a problem with these pics? She still looks hot to me in all these pics. And I’m not even a fan. She’s
beautiful–tell her to get over herself or stop performing live.

Second: whoever took these must have though they were flattering. Personally, I wouldn’t risk my reputation releasing anything but the most flattering pics. Yeah, I might not have shared any of these. But that’s probably the difference between a career photographer and a paparazzo–the latter just doesn’t give a fuck. The worse the better.

These still ain’t that bad.

I agree, I’ve seen pictures of Beyonce and Jay Z’s yacht, maybe she should offer to pay for the pictures to be taken down, since I am sure now that all of the hype is about, the pictures are worth more than good pics of her. Thats how this type of thing gets started, we want to see people at their worst, makes unattainable celebrities more like us.

I think it’s awesome they boycotted. With 40+ yrs in this industry and, OH MY! a law degree, I’m aware of my rights as a photographer (Title 17 USC), and NO entity or person can DEMAND any sell-out requirements of anyone. Years ago one company tried. I wrote the contract for their demand. Funny, they went to a “lessor” qualified and less experienced amateur. Perhaps it was the 5 million dollars per image price. NEVER give your image RIGHTS away! If they hadn’t made such an idiotic demand, a reasonable and legitimate contract could have been signed. As professional photographers, you must remember, every image is OWNED by you and you alone. It’s up to you to “lease” or “sell” the rights and “privileges” of each frame you create. No one can demand giving up your rights unless YOU allow it.

As a photographer, i’d much rather be known as the one who delivered “the goods” not necessarily the “bads”. Especially if you’d like to return and get more work. My camera bodies shoot stills at 10fps so I can see how once could easily get those and more. And sure, the name Beyonce alone will get hundreds of thousands of views if not millions, but is that a good thing to have unflattering photos circulating for millions to laugh at? Yes if you don’t mind being number with any other opportunist looking to become infamous. But if you’re a tasteful professional, listen to the publicist and consider removing what’s left of the unflattering shots. The damage is already done but it’s the thought that count.

My two cents… probably could’ve gotten you some penny candies in the early 80′s.
