Travis Jensen is easily one of my favorite street photographers. He moved to San Francisco almost 20 years ago with a duffel, a skateboard, and a little cash, and has been beating the pavement ever since. In this video, Jensen talks about street photography, his method of shooting, what makes him tick as a photographer, and gives some advice to people trying to make a go of it themselves.

Jensen describes his city like the city of Atlantis: unique and there to be discovered. "I remember being on mushrooms one night, walking around downtown and Union Square, just trippin’ and some homeless guy, you know, telling me that San Francisco was sorta’ like the lost city of Atlantis. And when you really stop to think about that, I can kind of see that point."

His advice to aspiring photographers: “Do your own thing always. A lot of people get caught up in trends or they try to emulate that style or a certain look. You need to find something within your craft that sets you apart from the rest. That’s my advice to people; Do your own thing always. Develop your own style."

Below I've embedded some images from Jensen's Instagram. Be sure to check it out for yourself, he has some mind-blowing work.

Travis is rad! I ran into him in the streets one day. Super cool and mellow dude. Loved the video and the post. He deserves the recognition.
