Sarah Moon is an icon, without a doubt. Her work has been an inspiration to me from the beginning of my career. She’s a soulful and deep artist and has certainly earned her spot as one of the top “100 most influential photographers.” That’s why hearing her explain the chaos of her mind while she shoots is such an amazing experience for me. It’s the very same chaos that I experience, and I bet you do too.

There is one site that I consistently go to for inspiration . No matter how stuck I may feel or how many projects may demand my attention when I visit this dark and ominous page of collected brilliance I always leave refreshed. It may not always be safe for work, that part is pretty tough to predict as the work is always changing, but in my opinion the risk is worth it for the ideas and executions there. I know that high end retouching is not everyone’s cup of tea. For me though, I love fashion and beauty photography, and because of that I love amazing retouching work. I understand that different people view photography differently, and to me that’s what is so cool about photography. It can be so many different things to so many different people. I digress, anyway, I was recently shown the high end retouching work of Cristian Girotto from Paris and I was blown away. Whether high end retouching is your thing or not, there is no denying the talent which Cristian possesses.

At 43 years old, No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani poses for Annie Leibovitz for the January cover of Vogue magazine looking spectacular. A short behind the scenes video of the shoot was shared. While there is no instructional content in the 3 minute video it is interesting to get a behind the scenes peek into the shoot and see how the different sets are put together.
