In 1963, American photographer Melvin Sokolsky shot a gorgeous series for Harper’s BAZAAR of a model inside a giant plexi-glass bubble all around Paris. I can’t say enough about these images. They are timeless and even wow me today more than 50 years later. What a spectacularly executed concept that really draws you in and keeps you wanting for more. Well done Sokolsky, well done. Enjoy! “I started using Photoshop since i was a little kid, I would use a 1 mega pixel camera and invite my friends over. I would then take photos of them and photoshop them really tiny fighting my toys and what not. I think after that, I’ve always had an interest in photography. One funny thing though, i failed photography and Photoshop twice in high school. Just because i never wanted to do the projects our teacher gave us. Instead i would Photoshop the teacher like hulk and what not. Ha hah. I have never done a 365 or 52 project, even though I’m dying to do one. Just don’t think i have the time at the moment.” – Javier Gil [more]
About two months ago I was invited into a photography group on Facebook called CREATIVOS. I’m actually not sure how I got an invite, because the group is bursting with young talent, and while they all are wonderful, Elena Jasic‘s work immediately stood out to me. [more]
Wedding photography to me, is the hardest form of photography. There are so many different elements you have to deal with on extremely shot notices. However from the looks of it, Omar has that taken care of. His wedding/engagement shots are different from anything I have seen. From old vintage looks to high fashion James Bond inspired shots, Omar does it all. [more]
I love B&W photography. There is just something about it that captures you and makes you sit there and stare at it. The work of Ali Muhammad does just that. Though im not the biggest fan of the crops on these shots, I can push that aside and just stare. [more]
” My name is Laina Briedis. I’ve lived on Long Island all my life, and for as long as I can remember I have been captivated with the concept, practice, and art of photography. You could say that I very often try to live vicariously though my pictures- each still frame is a dream I had once, an attempt to capture or at least encompass some aspect of infinity. [more]
With all the DSLRs out right now, not to many people still shoot film. Baohien Ngo is one of the few who does and does it well. The images are what you would expect; colorful, great skin tones, that awesome film grain. You just can’t go wrong with film! [more]
A few nights ago I was introduced to the work of Nirrimi. After reading her bio, I was floored to discover this photographer hasn’t even lived two decades yet and has already shot major campaigns for companies like Diesel and Billabong. Her story is very inspirational, and makes me think that maybe I have been playing things too safe with my own career, maybe I should take some chances. If we fall on our face, we can always pick ourselves back up.

Fashion Photographer Lindsay Adler has put together a new behind the scenes video that shows you how she is able to capture images of a model that look like silhouettes, but still have glare and depth as if they were wearing latex. This video shows us the lighting setup in her studio for capturing these unique images.
“Ever since I was young I’ve always had the urge to preserve moments of my life. First by keeping a journal, then by collecting smells into little boxes (though that did not work very well as you can imagine, still for a little girl that was very disappointing). [more]
