A modern take on the little black dress, Emily Steel has found a way to make film a fashion statement. This dressed is adorned with film and backed with LED lights that give the effect. The idea was to create a wearable dress that fuses the idea of technology and art. The end result is intriguing to say the least. Check out the images and more details in the expanded post. [more]
I love everything about this ‘Mimicry’ series by Maurits Giesen and Ilse Leenders. Each frame has two figures (the photographers themselves) next to each other in the same pose. There is something very Wes Anderson about these images; it’s probably the amount of styling and the intentional use of color. The oddball posing fits right into each scene.

I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this before. The England-based artistic collaboration of Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey (a.k.a. Ackroyd & Harvey) have been creating large grassy portraits with the use of photosynthesis. They exposed the grass to the sun through large custom-made negatives, creating different tones from yellow to green. It’s a breathtaking concept that I would love to see in person. [more]
We do what we do because we love it. We didn’t do this for fame, glory, or accolades. We are just a bunch of photo nerds, gear heads, and working pros who wanted to help others learn how to be better photographers. We learn something new every day, and we hope that you do too. So we were extremely surprised to find that we were just rated the #1 photography site by ExpertPhotography.com. [more]
As photographers, we all are pretty familiar with the idea that imagery sells product better than any snazzily written paragraph could. A picture is worth a thousand words, right? So why is it that most craigslist ads either have no photos, or have really terrible images? I’m the first to admit my photos have minimal effort thrown into them when I make a Craigslist ad, which is probably why I still have my old drum kit. Well this guy knows how to make a great ad, because his 1991 BMW 318is looks freaking amazing. [more]
Like him or not, Mark Zuckerberg has become wildly successful with the social media giant, Facebook. After the IPO hit Wall Street, Zuck surprised his friends and family with an unannounced wedding to his long time girlfriend. His photographer Allyson Magda was caught off guard by the switcheroo of events, but according to Forbes, was able to keep it all together despite the craziness of the day. [more]

So let’s take a look at what it means to “Awesomize,” and dissect this app that promises to take sharper, better-exposed photos with stunning professional effects. [more]
In the past week, we have reported on some hot button issues. First we dropped the story regarding Time Magazine’s controversial cover. Not long after, Elle Brazil was next up to the plate with yet another contentious cover. Let’s look at what some of you had to say and discuss the issues further, because I know I wasn’t the only one who felt that there were those of you who were getting really fired up. [more]
Behind the scenes shots are always fun, especially when it’s from really great movies. You get to see characters in their real element still dressed as their on-screen characters. These images are just awesome. These are rarely seen images of the cast of Star Wars that I am pretty sure you’ll enjoy. [more]

Photographer Martin Schoeller recently shot this TIME Magazine cover on an extended method of motherhood. The featured cover shows an image of a young mom and her son, still breastfeeding at age 3. While there is no right or wrong time to stop breastfeeding, these images have stirred up quite the controversy on just that. [more]
The square Instagram App icon has become very well known to most of us. What if it was real? The team over at ADR studios rendered what it would look like if the icon became a real camera. Would it be something that you would buy if it was a possibility?
