Jaleel King is a great wedding and fashion photographer from Philadelphia, but other than being very talented, he's also a very special and strong person. When Jaleel was 8 years old, his neighbor shot him with a shotgun and left him paralyzed from his waist down. Since that incident Jaleel have to use a wheelchair to move around. His current wheelchair is 6 years old and breaking apart, but insurance companies deny any of his requests for a new and safer wheelchair. We think we know what you like, but often times we can be very, very wrong. So help us out by letting us know who you are and what you do. We will use it to tailor our content as we head into year 4 of Fstoppers.com.
On Friday our writer Dave Geffin featured Jean Claude Van Damme's newest commercial for Volvo, hailing it as the most successful commercial of 2013. The post was an instant success but then Jean Claude himself saw the post and decided to share it to millions of his followers. For 3 days Fstoppers received thousands of clicks per second. So many clicks that the site would crash instantly every time we reset the server.
French newspaper, Libération, published their November 14th issue without a single photograph. The stark blanket of text is all that is left of the issue. Their reasoning for leaving out the photos? They wanted to show their support of photographers who help bring the paper to life. They decided to publish on the same day as Paris Photo's opening day, to make a stand for photojournalists who risk everything and receive very little in return.
Probably like most of you, I have a plethora of different memory card sizes from 2GB up to 32GB. When I head out on a big shoot I tend to wonder if it would be better to use the smaller cards and spread the shoot out across a number of cards or shoot entirely with one. It seems every photographer has a different opinion on this one, here's what I think.
Every Wednesday, we have a question to ask our writers in a series we call Fstoppers Answers. We encourage the public to ask questions they'd like our staff of professional photographers and videographers to answer. With the November 22nd anticipated release of the newest installment of "The Hunger Games" series upon us; Lionsgate has just released a brand new four minute behind the scenes b-roll video that shows a small glimpse of what we can be expecting this Thanksgiving season in theaters. Living in NYC is great, but it has its down falls. As the city continues to grow we rely on an outdated transportation system. Luckily the MTA is digging away at the largest rail project the city has seen in sometime, East Side Access Project. Once completed the MTA will have added 5.6 miles to the rail system. Check out the latest underground photos from the project.
Each week, we invite you to ask a question for our writers to answer in a segment called Fstoppers Answers. Last week, we asked how each of our writers found their niche, this week, we invited each of our writers to tell us about 'The Worst Mistake You Ever Made in Your Photographic Career?'
