Hello fellow Fstoppers. My name is Chris Lambeth and this is my first post on here using my own work. Also, the first shoot I feel that is up to the level to be shared with more then just my Facebook fans and friends. My good friend and fellow photographer Seth Barlow, who has shot for companies such as Louis Vuitton, Gulf & Main, ect, decided to move back to my town of Spokane WA from Miami and purchase a studio. Good photography isn’t all about having a big budget and I am always a fan of photographers who can prove it. Columbus, Ohio based photographer Nick Fancher just sent me a quick video that outlines his very simple, yet brilliant, lighting idea. Nick took some cheap pegboard and lit it from behind creating a hundreds of little beads of light behind his subject. By using a wide aperture he could blur each of these bursts of light to create some pretty compelling images. [more]
I love fashion photography. It has been a dream of mine to shoot for magazines such as BAZAAR. Benjamin Kanarek did just that and had the opportunity to shoot Model and DJ, Alexandra Richards who is the daughter of Rolling Stones Keith Richards. From the looks of it, Benjamin went for a very simple look. Looks to me like a single Light source from overhead and a white wall with harsh shadows. Thats a bit different from most fashion shoots. Usually photographers go for soft shadows and use key lights, rim lights and fill lights. So seeing a high fashion shoot done with a simple technique is quite refreshing. [more]
Shinichi Maruyama is a fine art photographer based in New York City who specializes in abstract images which feature natural forms captured in a variety of ways. For one of his most recent projects, Shinichi photographed nude dancers using long exposure photography to create some very interesting (and beautiful, to boot) images. [more]
Photographer Jasmin Schuller has created a pretty rad little photo series called “Sweet Meat”. The final images consist of raw meats that are fashioned and styled to appear as desserts. I love this idea and yet again I have to kick myself and say, “Why didn’t I think of this?!” Jasmin has been exhibiting the collection all over and has been featured in Russian Esquire and De:bug. I’m sure PETA will want her to exhibit during their next gala. Enjoy!

First, let me start off by saying that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Yes, I am Mormon. When a fellow Fstopper writer posted this piece in our writer’s group at first I was saddened to see the material within the link, but then I took a step back and really processed what this series of photographs meant. The photographs depict a pair of Mormon missionaries in various sexual positions. The photographs may be quite simple, but the message is not. London photog, Roman Sakovich, has created a short series of photos illustrating the effects of drug abuse on a person. Even though the makeup is a bit overdone at times (IMO), I think he did a great job at showing who the person was and what they became. These shots tell a good story and paint a real picture. Enjoy! Every so often you find that one series of shots that is off the wall and hilarious. This shoot by Sasha is that shoot. People are always searching for that attractive model, in his case, he went for his grandma. The creaitvity behind these shots is outstanding. From star wars to washing a window with her dog, these are outstanding portraits. [more]
As a kid, I was a big fan of Saturday morning cartoons and comic books. By far one of the most enrapturing stories was X-men, each character with an awesome ability, some more potent than others. BGZ Studios was also a fan considering their latest photo shoot, which focuses in on the most powerful mutant in the series, Jean Grey after she turns into Dark Pheonix. [more]
Let’s face it, as much as we want to believe great photographs are created “in camera”, every single image you see published has been manipulated in Photoshop in some way. When it comes to producing attention grabbing photos, having a strong grasp on post production goes a long way. In an effort to raise awareness of overfishing in the Atlantic Ocean, a coalition of photographers in Europe came together to work on a project known as FishLove. By showing how much these celebs love fish (enough to get naked with them!) they’re hoping to bring attention to the plight of many overfished species. While the photos are certainly attention grabbing, I think I much would have preferred video of naked celebrities trying to pose with live fish. When asked to come up with some new promo material for the Progressive International Motorcycle Show that was creative, racy, and original, I.D.E.A met the challenge. By teaming up with Trina Merry, a body paint artist, and Juan Moreno, the photographer for the day, the team was able to create the motorcycles by using human bodies. [more]
Inspired by Thomas David Photography’s shoot earlier this year, CEB Imagery decided to put together a “Dance Powder” photo shoot and filmed a detailed behind the scenes video to “pay it forward.” The video is well done as he explains the setup, process, tips, what he learned and even shows his first few photos which he humorously captioned, “WTF YO?
