Bert Stern's career started in the mailroom at Look Magazine and soon became sought after by Hollywood and Madison Avenue.
Bert Stern: Original Mad Man directed by Shannah Laumeister, follows Stern's career through the golden age of the ad world and the iconic Marilyn Monroe "The Last Sitting" series.
Stern is notably well known for his 3 day photo shoot with Marilyn Monroe for Vogue, which happened a few weeks before her demise. Nowness.com released a 2 minute NSFW clip from the film of Stern discussing his experience with Marilyn Monroe and the famous photo shoot at the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles.
Stern has worked with the likes of Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Twiggy and would later photograph the iconic image of Sue Lyon as Stanley Kubrick’s Lolita.
