I’m a fan of the OnOne presets… I experimented with a friend’s Cafe Darkroom Presets too and they seemed pretty decent. They have a free download on their website too

Gotta say I agree. The problem is that SLR lounge presets have been a major advertisement on Fstoppers for a fair while, and both stand to make money from a good review so impartiality can’t be achieved. Throw in a marketing video at the front end and you have a real credibility problem, regardless of who was paid to do the review.

I have been using the Lightroom Presets from SLR Lounge for the past couple of months. At first I was a bit skeptical about the quality of the presets and the recipes for producing the right “touch” on each of my images, but I decided to try it out. Anyway, they totally exceeded my expectations. Before I had the presets, post-producing images would drag on for longer than it should…. now, I don’t spend nearly as much time clicking and adjusting. I recommend them to all my fellow photographer friends and to all of you.

i can say unreservedly that I use the SLR lounge preset system on almost every image as an avid hobbyist. The amount of instruction that comes with the videos and what SLR lounge provides on their site borders on the obscene in terms of what you get for free.

Not only do I dig the product, Pye is a great instructor. Digital photography was new to me last year as I finally retired film and SLR lounge and the preset system was a linch pin in my post-processing education.

In your situation, you can simply purchase the physical DVD option, which is not much more than the digital download option. We usually ship within 2 business days (often the same day the order is placed) and it should arrive within 3-4 Weeks to India.

I’m obviously biased in my opinion, as I’m one of the editors for SLR Lounge. However, I wanted to note that we use this preset system almost exclusively (minus the advanced Photoshop and HDR shots) for our wedding photography studio, Lin and Jirsa (http://www.linandjirsablog.com).

We shoot a combined total of over 120 weddings a year (among 6 lead photographers) and we still deliver our images within 4 weeks to the client (roughly 800-1000 images delivered per wedding). Prior to developing this system, our delivery time was 8 weeks. While part of this is improvement is due to hiring more qualified post production staff, a huge part of it is also attributed to these presets. Besides saving time, it also standardizes your delivery and leads to consistency as far as style and quality.

I personally own this along with a few other preset collections from other companies and this is the only one that came with video instuctions on using them as well as it truly being a workflow type system not just a one click preset for a pretty look. The “mixologies” as they call them will do that but the real helpful part of these presets isnt in a one click approach but in a couple clicks to get to any combination of looks you are going for. The time it has saved me was well worth the money
