Fuji X-Pro 1 and X-E1 Firmware Updates Now Available!

Fuji previously released firmware updates that upgraded the X-Pro 1′s autofocus performance, among other things, turning it into another kind of beast. Now, they again promise AF accuracy improvements and more for the X-Pro 1, X-E1, and XF 35mm f1.4 lens.

The firmware updates allow for use of the new 14mm XF lens on the X-Pro 1 and X-E1 bodies in addition to various AF improvements for both models and audio improvements for the X-E1. The update for the 35mm XF lens improves AF accuracy. Let us know how drastic these changes are. Can you tell if it makes a difference?

              Download the X-Pro 1 firmware update 2.03

Download the X-E1 firmware update 1.04

Download the 35mm XF lens firmware update 2.02 (firmware update for X-Pro 1 and/or X-E1 required for full benefits)

Both of the cameras intrigue me.  I’ve actually toyed with the idea of using it/them  instead of my 5D II. essentially studio work only.

Unfortunately they forgot the X100! :-(

My autofocus does, in fact, seem a little faster on the X-Pro1, especially in low-light situations where the camera previously struggled. Gotta’ love fuji for always trying to make their products perform better.

The autofocus seems to have improved alot on the XE-1. That was the biggest issue with this camera that I had. Now if Adobe does their part in Lightroom, all will be good.

There’s no raw support for the XE-1 yet I guess?

              • http://twitter.com/TraynorPhoto Mike Traynor

Not for the Pro or XE-1 yet. However jpegs are extremely good, and RAW does work and produces very nice results,  just not as good as they could be. There are other editors that support the two cameras, just not Adobe…yet.

Adobe does process X-E1 files.  I have one and have been doing so.  CS6 via Bridge.  Not sure about LR4.
