Lensbaby Announces New Mobile Photography Kit

Lensbaby Announces New Mobile Photography Kit

Portland-based Lensbaby announced a new mobile photography kit aimed at bringing their unique lens esthetics to the mobile platform. This new creative mobile kit includes two lenses and a magnetic kickstand.

The LM-20 lens is modeled after their sweet spot focus lenses for DSLR use. They feature a sharp focal point slowly fading into a soft blur to the edges of the frame. The LM-30 is a different beast entirely. It has a sharp image in the center surrounded by a circular pattern of reflections, something like you’d imagine a bee or a fly would see.

The kickstand is pretty straightforward, it’s a kickstand for your phone similar to what the HTC Thunderbolt had back in the day. It just attaches to the mount similarly to the lenses.

Creative Mobile Kit featuring the LM-20, LM-30, Kickstand and iPhone Mount:

  • LM-20 Sweet Spot Lens produces a large sweet spot of focus surrounded by gradually increasing blur.

  • LM-30 creates a sharp, clear circular image surrounded by repeated reflected images.

  • Custom designed iPhone Mount slides over the camera on your phone. Press the locking tab down to secure it in place. Slide the spring loaded release button to pop the iPhone Mount off your phone.

  • LM-20, LM-30, and Kickstand all magnetically attach to the stainless steel plate in the iPhone Mount or to stainless steel ring on Android and iPhone 5C.

  • Price: $89.95

LM-10 Sweet Spot Lens featuring iPhone Mount or adhesive-backed stainless steel rings:

  • Produces small sweet spot of focus surrounded by gradually increasing blur.

  • Custom designed iPhone Mount slides over the camera on your phone. Press the locking tab down to secure it in place. Slide the spring loaded release button to pop the iPhone Mount off your phone.

  • Magnetically attaches to stainless steel plate in the iPhone Mount or adhesive-backed stainless steel rings.

  • Price: $59.95

Each Lensbaby iteration since the intriguing Edge 80 has become increasingly absurd

I feel like they grabbed a kaleidoscope from their nearest party supply store
"Yes this is our new mobile photo kit"

Peep holes are usually around 10-25 bucks so you really wouldn't be saving all that much.

Under 10 bucks at Amazon.

Why are the photographers commenting so angry about this, . . . . perhaps it is time for a vacation

No, it's just a useless product that should have never been produced. Well, a vacation would be nice. :)
