Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G AF-S ED

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G AF-S ED

Who It’s For:

This is a professional grade, super wide angle lens that is used for very special purposes. This is not a “Get it all in” lens, this is a shove your viewers nose in it lens that 90% of the time isn’t necessary, but when it is, this lens excels at it.

What We Like:

Silent Wave Motor: This lens is incredibly quiet while focusing unlike some of the older D lenses

Sharp: At 14mm f/2.8 this lens is actually very sharp in the corners

Solid Build Quality: All metal build except for the rubber bits.

What We Don't:

Price: The nearly $2,000 dollar price tag makes this lens something of an investment, especially for something of a specialty lens, but if you need it, it’s worth it.

Cannot Use Filters: The front element bulges out so far that its impossible to put a filter over the front element. This is also a bit of an issue because it’s an expensive lens and the fact that you can’t put a UV filter over the front means its much easier to scratch that crucial front element.
