A Review of the Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Lens

A good macro lens can be a versatile and highly valuable instrument well beyond the realm of macro photography. This excellent video takes a look at Sony's version, the FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS lens.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost Photography, this excellent video review takes a look at the Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS lens. I personally think a short telephoto macro lens is by far one of the best lenses many photographers can invest in. Obviously, you have the macro capabilities that let you capture lots of detail. But beyond that, macro lenses tend to be some of the sharpest out there, and when you combine that with their short telephoto focal length and f/2.8 aperture, you get a fantastic portrait lens, often at a much lower price than premium portrait glass. Unless, you really need that ultra-wide aperture, a macro lens might actually be a better choice. It is why I mention the Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro lens as my go-to for a ton of portraiture work in my overview of Canon's best EF portrait lenses. Check out the video above for Frost's full thoughts on Sony's offering.

Good review. Thank you for sharing.🤗

excellent lens and super sharp, unfortunately the AF tends to pump a little bit in not-so-ideal lighting conditions ...
