Samsung Sees Success with Galaxy Camera, Announces Second Version

Samsung saw enough success with their Galaxy Camera to build and offer a second version, due out sometime this year. The original Galaxy camera seemed to be an easy choice for consumers eager to maintain the comfort of an Android OS and smartphone-like functionality. The GALAXY Camera 2 includes an upgraded 1.6GHz Quad Core processor and the latest Android 4.3 JellyBean platform. It has a lightweight and what Samsung is calling a "retro" design.

The GALAXY Camera 2 lets users enjoy the full benefits of the updated Android 4.3 JellyBean platform. As with the original Galaxy Camera, the intuitive interface is appealing to those who want something similar to the phones they all already have. Samsung enhanced the battery life, as longer sessions between shooting is always good.

The Galaxy camera boasts a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a huge 21x Optical Zoom. You can also now pinch to zoom, a functionality that we have all become used to. It also features an upgraded 1.6 GHzQuad Core processor and has 2.0 gigabytes of RAM, allowing the camera to operate at ultra-high speed so that an array of intuitive features can be accessed without delay. This internal memory is also backed up with Dropbox integration which includes an exclusive offer providing users 50GB of free cloud storage for up to two years.

The camera comes packed with the same smart functions that you can find in the newly announced NX30.

I can see a market for this type of camera. Not everybody owns smartphones or even wants smartphones - older people, teenagers, kids, etc. and some people want a portable camera that gets better pictures than their cell phones and have zoom.
