Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC LD II Aspherical IF Macro

Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC LD II Aspherical IF Macro

Who It’s For:

This lens is for the person that doesn’t want to carry a bag full of lenses. If you want a light, compact, lens that has a massive focal range, this is definitely the lens for you.

What We Like:

Range: This lens will go from 28-300mm at full frame. This is something almost unheard of and provides a huge degree of flexibility.

VC: Tamron’s Vibration Compensation development system helps to reduce hand shake in much the same way that VR works.

Size: For having the focal range that it does, this lens is tiny.

Zoom Lock Mechanism: For transport, the zoom lock will keep the barrel from extending and causing problems.

Close Focusing: Tamron calls this a macro lens, but it’s not 1:1 or 1:2 so it’s not technically a macro lens.

Price: At  this price point, you really can’t go wrong.

What We Don’t:

Slow: At f/6.3, this lens has a much slower aperture than many lenses at 300mm.
