More retouching, or do you like it?

Hi,

this is my first post on FStoppers and I recently started reading about some retouching techniques. I am very impressed on how much experience and knowledge you have to have doing this job. It´s the borderline between working on the image and still letting it look natural.

I did a photoshoot with an opera singer for her new show. I like this photo very much and did some retouching on the face. Can you have an experienced look at it and give me some advice how to maybe further improve it?

Thanks for your help!

Ha, I first had to find the translation for "taxidermied" :) I haven't thought of it like that. You are right!

Thanks for your opinion with the hot spots and the reduction of distractions. I never would have figured that out on my own, but now that you tell I can see it too. Nice!

What do you mean by the "tan line" and the "farmer tan"? I am sorry, I am not a native speaker and didn't find a proper translation for that.

Thanks again!

To me it looks like single point focus center of the frame. Meaning it looks like the sharpest point in the picture is her bust and not her left eye. But I might be wrong as i am looking at this on my phone.

I know what you mean - hm, maybe it´s also because I have to make her face more prominent. Lighten up the eyes and so on - I am working on it!

I think you need to boost the shadows in the top half of this image. Darker shadows on her face would pop her out a bit more.

Thank you for your advice - I will try to work on it!

I think the tan line on her shoulder should be removed and the tone evened out.
