I wanted to do this publicly.Thank you Thank you Andrew Griswold. I followed your wisdom. I tagged and even hashtagged allrecipes popular hashtags and got their attention. Given they do offer these to a ton of people but its only a first step to bigger more exclusive brands.
How I did it. I simply uploaded it to instagram, but first a BTS which orignally got allrecipes instagram's attention and offered to feature that BTS photo, but then they decided to go with one of the final shots instead I later uploaded and then they added it to theirs tagging me. I gave my honest thoughts as it was a true experience where I never followed a food recipe in my life honestly (other than pre-made boxes like mac n cheese) and hashtagged it and @allrecipes and boom I got the offer to be featured not just their instagram but their website too! I think they have a magazine too and hopefully I'll get offered to get onto there too!
This is awesome man! Really appreciate the kinda words and pretty rewarding to get featured for your work so quickly like that! Hopefully the engagement and exposure from this project pushes you further to keep vying for larger brands. I am sure you will do well and hope you snag that magazine feature, even if it means shooting them another friendly comment or email about possibly getting featured in the magazine. At the base of it all see if they will pay you to feature it or even do the full talk about the process, that would be outstanding if they linked back to your site and username as well. I have a good friend that did something similar to this and was asked to create a whole series (paid) and was featured on West Elm's website/blog.
