Guide to Fstoppers Favorite Photo Gear

We get a lot of emails asking “what should I buy for my first camera,” or “what flash system does FS use?” Since so many people are interested in the gear that we use we thought we’d put together a few lists of equipment that the Fstoppers team uses for both photography and Fstoppers Original videos.

Obviously some of these cameras and flash systems may not be perfect for someone just starting out, these are our personal favorites that we depend on day in and day out. We aren’t super brand loyal but rather we just like stuff that works and works well. Here are a few lists we have put together, just click the links to view everything:

    Thks guys

I think only one thing is missing in the list.

Can you tell us where do you store the recording audio? In the DSLR or in other device?

    Your site is very inspiring!!!

We actually record audio directly into the camera. It probably isn’t the best system but for now it’s acceptable. I guess we should add one of the Zoom units to our list since we’ve used one once and it was pretty handy….it’s kind of a pain to sync up if you have dozens and dozens of audio/video tracks though.

Hey Patrick, a while back you were advertising a bracelet that looks like a focus ring from a Canon lens….do you remember that? I need to know what the website was.
