Great article! but you may want to reword this sentence in section 6. “Be the best kid shooter you can be.” Even though everybody reading this is going to know what you are talking about. When taken out of context it sounds horrible.

Doug, you now have a new fan. Thanks for the article, it helps more than you know. The only thing I would add – be accepting of criticism. As photographers, we are at our core, vulnerable with an innate need, rooted deep in our craft to be accepted – hell, even loved. So criticism, any criticism, can be… how do I say this, humbling to say the least. With that said, I also say, stick to your guns. If you have an image that matches the vision you were trying to invoke… in the words of Jay Z ” Remind yourself. Nobody built like you, you design yourself” or maybe this Jay Z quote is more appropriate…”difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week”. In either case, as long as you’re happy with your creation nothing else really matters. Wait… if however, you’re getting paid to produce, than the later doesn’t apply. But hey, you’re getting paid :)
