ya, okay folks just trust them, they wont take advantage of you….
I wonder if the next “SCREAM HEARD/seen AROUND THE WORLD” will come from instagram?

As of January 19th, the new, re-revised policy will state:

“Rights
1. Instagram does not claim ownership of any Content that you post on or
through the Service. Instead, you hereby grant to Instagram a
non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, transferable,
sub-licensable, worldwide license to use the Content that you post on or
through the Service…..”

Billy and Eric. Megapixels don’t really matter that much when you are advertising for the web. Also you may not care what people do with your images, but most of us make our money with image rights being exclusive. A simple snapshot could be worth something especially with regards to microstock.

I don’t get all the scrutiny over all of this. I’m a photographer and I don’t care at all if someone takes my crappy 3mp image taken of dumb stuff I take pictures of on my phone. It’s not my camera I use for projects – or full res files. Who cares – there’s more important things in the world to bitch about.

Actually come to think of it this whole thing falls into the category of first world problems again. Oh I’m sorry that your FREE SERVICE on your expensive iphone has made things somewhat inconvenient for you and your pictures of your food.

I still don’t like the fact that I grant some rights to my content by posting it on the site. You want to use it, fine, ask me first. Its completely irrelevant whether I pay or not for the service that you provide. Those sites seem to be forgetting that we, the users, don’t need your site in particular while you, the site, need us or you have as much use as a diamond mine on Mars.
