Leica Announces New Rainbow-Colored Binoculars
I certainly wasn’t expecting this from Leica today: The new Leica Ultravid Colorline collection of compact, high quality binoculars. In addition to the classic models with black leather trim, the Leica Ultravid 8 x 20 and Leica Ultravid 10 x 25 are now also available in vibrantly colored leather trim: apple green, Aztec beige, dove blue, Capri blue, cherry red and lemon yellow.
Not sure what brought this on, but the new binoculars are “elegantly styled with superior optical performance, the compact binoculars of the Leica Ultravid Colorline collection are ideal accessories for all viewing opportunities; from exploring ancient monuments and museums to theatres and concerts, their compact size allows them to fit comfortably in any jacket pocket. Their ability to suppress light reflections, the trademark of all Leica products, makes the binoculars particularly valuable when viewing under unfavorable lighting conditions: in the twilight hours as well as under stage lighting or floodlights.”
“With a close focusing limit of only 5.9 feet, the Leica Ultravid 8 x 20 Colorline allows users to see the finest details at relatively short distances. With 10x magnification, the Leica Ultravid 10 x 25 Colorline is also suitable for viewing subjects at greater distances. On safari or at sporting events, these power-packed, compact binoculars bring every subject almost close enough to touch.”
I’m not entirely sure how much these will cost, so if anyone finds a price let me know in the comments. Anyone interested? If only they took pictures…
