              Lexar’s New 256GB SDXC UHS-I Card

Lexar just announced the industry’s first 256GB SD card — and it’s not slow, either. While some might see this as overkill, there are certainly many project-related uses in which one might need to be able to store large amounts of photo or video information without clearing the card in between.

The Lexar 256GB SDXC UHS-I card features the fastest technology in SD cards as well as a cutting edge, 20nm flash memory process. At 400x, this card can write for a guaranteed 60MB/s, plenty for 1080p video and any photo needs.

Available in October, you can get the card for $899.99. At that price, you’ll need a darn good reason, still, seeing as a 128GB card at the same speed costs as little as $127.79 here.

Why!!! Seriously! Let’s think about that for a second. You put a shit load of images on the card and then it breaks down……..I rather use many smaller cards. That way if one breaks down, I only use a few images and not the whole session. And the price is a bit of a shocker!

Yeah I wouldn’t plan to use this for stills. For video, that’s a really great option.
