Three Powerful Natural Light Portrait Scenarios

There is sometimes the misconception that natural light only offers one look, but it can be a lot more versatile than you might think. If you know how to read the light, you can create a wide variety of looks suitable for many different applications. This excellent video tutorial will show you three different natural light scenarios, how to find them, and how to use them for shooting photos.

Coming to you from Lindsay Adler with Adorama TV, this great video tutorial will show you three natural light scenarios and how to use them for portraiture, including natural reflectors, covered shade, and slices of hard light. One of the nicest aspects of working with natural light is that you can remain relatively nimble and work a lot of locations in a short period of time simply because you do not have to deal with the logistics of lugging a lot of equipment around. The next time you are out, even if you don't have a camera, make a game of trying to see all the instances of the scenarios Adler details; you might be surprised by how many opportunities are out there. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Adler.
