All 50 States by 50 Different Talented Photographers, Taken on July 4th

Lots of people get out and travel, and spend time in some of the most scenic places the United States has to offer during the week of Independence Day. I'm even writing this article from a cafe nestled deep in Sequoia National Forest in California! In celebration of this holiday, CanvasFactory worked closely with 50 photographers in all 50 states to take an iconic image that represented where they reside, and have presented them all in a single, interactive map.

Bridges seemed to be popular, as I checked my home state of Michigan to find a great shot of the Big Mac bridge, that links the lower peninsula to the upper peninsula.

And this incredible shot taken in Utah:

Have you ever traveled all over the country, with a goal of making incredible images? I'll be doing a series on traveling photographers and filmmakers in the near future, asking them about how they balance their work/travel life, and find business as well. If you have ever done this, or know some professional creatives who do this or have attempted that lifestyle, leave a comment below! I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

To see all 50 images, head over to CanvasFactory.

I don't know if this counts, but my friend Rich Brand of Captured Heartbeats is currently on a second kayaking adventure. Last year he kayak'd from the head of the Mississippi River all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. 2,400 Miles. This year he is kayaking the Pacific Ocean from Seattle, Washington to San Diego, California. You can follow his adventures on his Facebook page ...

Sweet! My photo of West Virginia's 150th Birthday is featured for the West Virginia photo!

Worked closely with photographers in all 50 states? If I read it correctly (and their map is sort of broken on my iPhone so I'm not 100%) they used a New Hampshire based photographer for Rhode Island.

I declined the invitation to be the contributing photographer for Louisiana. They wanted content in exchange for photo credit and I wanted written license with a usage fee. No deal.

Sorry but I am going to play negative Nancy, but that was the best you found for Colorado? Underexposed cloudy day?

FStoppers didn't choose the pictures. CanvasFactory searched for photographers in every state then sent emails asking to use their pictures for free. That's probably just the best shot someone was willing to give away.
