Look At Leica’s Pretty New Store in Miami

Leica is known as a kind of Mercedez when it comes to cameras. It captures images like any camera will, but it’s the name and reputation (and the quality that comes with it) you get a Leica for. That and the optics. Leica fans can rejoice over the opening of a store in Miami that showcases the full Leica photography and sport optics product portfolio, and it’s got a pretty slick interior to boot.

“A unique lifestyle destination, the 2,200 square-foot Leica Store Miami has opened in conjunction with Dale Photo & Digital, based in Ft. Lauderdale. Customers will be able to experience the iconic brand and marvel at the photographic exhibits in an atmosphere that befits Leica’s tradition of German innovation and artistic excellence. In addition to the entire product portfolio, the location will also offer a variety of special edition Leica Camera products such as the Leica X2 Edition Paul Smith.”

I kind of like the idea of a Leica store. Sony, Microsoft and Apple are doing it, why not company devoted to cameras? This might be the best place to get real knowledge about the product and pick up exactly what you need, if you can afford the gear that is.

“The Leica Store Miami is open Monday through Saturday and provides customers the opportunity to schedule private appointments by calling (305) 921-4433. Hours, directions and the latest event information can be found online at leicastoremiami.com or on Facebook at facebook.com/LeicaStoreMiaimi.”

The store opened to the public late last month, but a grand opening celebration is set for March 21, followed by a selection of “enlightening workshops and poignant lectures” on March 22 and 23.

Minus the black and red colors, kinda reminds me of an Apple store.

It would be cool if I could even come close to buying a Leica…One Day…alas, that day is not today.

“I kind of like the idea of a Leica store. Sony, Microsoft and Apple are doing it, why not company devoted to cameras?”what exactly do you mean by this? it appears they’re selling cameras there.  the Leica concept store in Vancouver has incredibly knowledgable staff and it looks pretty much the same.

looks just like the store inside the Frankfurt airport.  Looks stylish but more like a museum rather than a place that’s inviting… hope the store has lot’s of cameras available to play around with and not just inside glass cases…

I’m not sure what you mean by your question. I’m saying it’s a good idea. If other companies (Sony, Microsoft and Apple) are doing it, why can’t a camera company? I’m saying I like it.

your wording was a little awkward dude.  understood.

There’s a Leica store in Vancouver? Like, Vancouver Canada?! Where is this concept store you speak of and is it still open?

I think your mind is a little bit awkward, there is nothing wrong with what he wrote.

it’s a shop-in-shop.  In the back of Broadway camera in Richmond.

“This might be the best place to get real knowledge about the product and pick up exactly what you need, if you can afford the gear that is.” I don’t see how a store that sells only one brand has any advantage on this account. I’d rather have a store with knowledgeable staff about many different brand’s products…. and just photography! What Blaise is talking about makes more sense. What you really need has to be defined by you and your work, not a salesman and especially no one vested in a single brand.

@Dave Coburn, it dont looks like an apple store. It looks like german puristic design, by the way Steve Jobs come to germany as well and had a german designer (sorry i dont have the name at this moment) for his products. And the “Bauhaus” architects change the skyscraper style in the whole world (america included). This Leica store adapt that (the chairs and other elements are definitely from this time).
Apple dont have patent on every puristic design element!

Yeah, Mercedez and Leicu, top brands…  ;-)

I don’t like when salesmen are nice and I know I am wasting their time… But I will definitely check this store out the same way I went to see new Credo backs ;)
