Meet Patrick Hall: Charleston Wedding Photographer

Now that Fstoppers is up and running I thought it would be a good time to introduce Patrick Hall, one of the best wedding photographers in South Carolina. Charleston and South Carolina in general has become a hot spot for destination weddings because of the weather, the beach, and the historic charm the city and state has for visitors. As a wedding photographer based out of downtown Charleston, Patrick Hall Photography has used the cities charm to his advantage by creating interesting portraits using Charleston as the backdrop:

“I know many of my clients are a bit nervous about taking photos for the first time; especially the guys. I usually tell them to just relax and we will casually walk around downtown or head out to the beach and see what we stumble upon. Taking bridal images or engagement shots should not feel like a chore or create any sense of nervousness, and I’ve found when shooting wedding photos in Charleston people usually turn their attention to their surrounding rather than the camera. It’s great because when people aren’t excited about the environment around them or are not affectionate towards their partner it really shows in the photos. I think it would be a lot harder doing what I do somewhere more industrial like Atlanta or Charlotte.”

Wedding photography has changed a lot over the last few years and people are growing more and more interested in sharing their photos not only with their families in a traditional album but also online through facebook and slideshows. Patrick has enjoyed this new transition and now creates slideshows for all of his brides. Check out his 2009 wedding season recap showcasing his favorite wedding photographs from the couples he shot throughout the year.

Whether you are getting married at Isle of Palms, Downtown Charleston, Folly Beach, Daniel Island, Mount Pleasant, at one of the plantations, or on the beach, your wedding should be relaxed and fun.
Most of the wedding planners, caterers, and vendors understand this and Patrick requires it. So if you are looking for a charleston wedding photographer that brings a commercial and magazine style edge to your wedding, check out Patrick Hall at www.patrickhallweddings.com
