Mimicry: A Quirky Series of Images by Giesen and Leenders

I love everything about this ‘Mimicry’ series by Maurits Giesen and Ilse Leenders. Each frame has two figures (the photographers themselves) next to each other in the same pose. There is something very Wes Anderson about these images; it’s probably the amount of styling and the intentional use of color. The oddball posing fits right into each scene.

From their website: “The authority of our work lies in the meticulous care with which we construct and ‘direct’ each shot. We acknowledge the subliminal impact of different genres, from film noir to pulp fiction and graphic novels, but create convincing scenes that invite suspension of disbelief.”
