[News] Nikon EN-EL15 Battery Recall

While users have not experienced issues, according to Nikon, it was still discovered that the popular D800, D7000, and Nikon 1 V1 EN-EL15 battery overheats. Nikon has issued a recall for certain batch numbers. Read on to see if you're affected.

On one hand, it's clear which batteries are to be recalled. Nikon has stated that batteries with a ninth digit of the letter 'E' or 'F' are subject to the recall -- no other batteries.

However, Nikon also has this to add: "Nikon’s digital SLR D800, D800E, D7000 cameras and Nikon 1 V1 advanced camera with interchangeable lens as well as any other Nikon cameras are also not subject to this recall." Perhaps they're verifying that the cameras themselves are not subject to the recall? Are we that thick?
