[Video] A Creative, Inspirational Short by Tom Jenkins

Using Google Street View, stop motion animation, a 5D Mark II, everyday objects as props, great lighting and the power of the creative mind, director Tom Jenkins made what maybe my favorite short of the year, Address Is Approximate.

The Story: A lonely desk toy longs for escape from the dark confines of the office, so he takes a cross country road trip to the Pacific Coast in the only way he can – using a toy car and Google Maps Street View.

All screen imagery was animated - there are no screen replacements. Produced, animated, filmed, lit, edited & graded by Tom Jenkins (TheoryFilms, Facebook).

One of the most moving short films I've seen in a long time.

Awesome short. Great concept, well executed.

Great job.

Words cannot describe how much I love this short film.

So simple, yet so creative! Great work

I'm glad you all think so.  When I said it maybe being my favorite short of the year I thought for sure I would have dozens of net trolls spewing bullshit about why it isn't that good.  I'm glad others can appreciate the simple brilliance of this very short short.  :)

all i can say is WOW. just wow.

Very well done.

It's comforting to know there is so much creativity in this world, and we have a means to see it.

That was amazing. I really, really like it!

Loved it.

Awesome! Very creative stuff.

AWSEMOE!!! This really INSPIRED me!!

damn, it almost made me misty (almost... i don't get misty about toys!).  Once again proof that all the equipment in the world is still no substitute for an incredible vision and perseverance.

Good find FS!

INCREDIBLE! One of the best posts I've ever seen on FStoppers. Incredible imagination, and an equal execution prove this to be something that should be winning awards up and down coast lines all over the world. What an amazing use of three minutes of my life. Thanks Kenn, and to Tom Jenkins, the mastermind behind it all.

Beautiful.

This is so moving, it is genius. I have no other words to describe this.
