More destruction in the area of the writer? That seems to be a horrible thing to hope for. I’m pretty sure they’re not reporters with easy access to a car to drive around to the worst hit spots. And no, filming a reporter in the most uncomfortable situation isn’t required for it to be reporting. It is what needs to be done to get ratings, and that doesn’t make it the only legitimate way to “report” a story.

to be rude”, it sounds more like he’s jealous that someone beat him to the idea
of writing a personal account and point of view from the storm inundated streets
for Fstoppers.  That being said, I find
it tiresome watching some poor rain soaked and windblown schmuck from the local
TV station reporting on how rainy and windy it is by standing in it.  It seems that we have to watch this same
scene from every corner of the world where there’s a storm going on.  It has long since ceased to be even the slightest
bit original.  I’d much rather see
pictures like the ones in this article that are actually taken by real people
and not some news guy attempting to dramatize the situation for ratings.

I always told them how it was far from fun leaving our homes, worrying if our photos and memories would survive, how our homes would fare, etc. My heart is with everyone who has been effected by Hurricane Sandy. It is one of the hardest things to go through. My only hope is that next time a hurricane heads to the gulf coast that everyone would remember how difficult this time is and will be more understanding. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone as y’all begin the rebuilding process. It is hard, but the sense of community that you will experience is something you won’t forget!

of Eyewitness News reporter Phil Lipof (above)   “… I felt terrible
for this guy. I understand getting the news, but he didn’t have to be
out in it…”  Uhhh, yes, you do “have to be out in it”.  That’s called
reporting.  Unless you’re “out in it” you get lame shots like the ones
you guys provided. I’m really not sure what the point of this entry is all
about. I defend your right to posting what you think and feel but let’s get the facts straight. Not to be rude, but sorry guys. This one needs some work.

Everything that came with her we received power outages, Extreme flooding and massive wind damage. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my all my years living here in New York.
Cars floating & being pushed through the streets, water tearing through homes what a sight behold..
