Photographer Asks You to “Steal My Photograph!”
Photographer Lukas Renlund shares with us the second installation in his “Steal My Photograph” series. I was very impressed with this idea when I posted his Copenhagen Exhibit last August but Lukas has added a humorous new twist to his Barcelona installation by hiding a GoPro camera behind his photos to capture the reactions of the unsuspecting, would-be-thieves. I got a chance to catch up with Lukas and asked him a few of the questions that have been on everyone’s mind.
Lukas: “I’ve always liked working in natural light. Sometimes I will use a fill-in flash. Often my inspiration will come from discovering an interesting location or a cool detail on something. My mind begins to hum and I start developing ideas from there.”
Lukas: “I try not to hold a grudge and get hung up on those things. Then again, I have never yet punched anybody in the face before.”
Lukas: “In Denmark it is something of a national dish, they call them Smørrebrød over here. A couple of ‘smørrebrøds’ with different toppings make a tip top lunch!”
Lukas: “Well, if you are tempted by what you see here (and in the Copenhagen-video from last autumn) LONDON would be the city to be in between the 17th – 20th of October.”
