They didn’t necessarily need photographic services at the time, but I would shoot things for them that I conceptualized on the trade-off that if they liked the shots they could use them for whatever. While working for free and “great exposure” is something I normally never do, at a time when I had no clientele at all, this helped establish a working portfolio which garnered more respect from potential clients.
