Photo Raw Magazine Recieves a Platform Facelift, Renamed to Raw View

Formerly Photo Raw, Raw View Magazine has taken a new approach to the construct of a photography magazine. Raw View is made up of a completely voluntary staff of talented writers, photographers, and documentarians. With a specialized focus in documentary photography, Raw View has made it a mission exhibit imagery from the highest caliber of photographer with a focus on print quality. The self-proclaimed mission of Raw View is not just a crescendo of visual journalism, but it is to tackle complex and difficult subjects within the world of photography. The ultimate goal is to inspire, stimulate, and entertain.

Raw View's quest is to "create a community and a place for photographers to publish their visionary documentary photo series with an artistic approach." Editor-in-Chief and Founder Hannamaro Shakya continues, "To our readers we offer an inspiring high-quality magazine that is worth waiting for. Relaunching the magazine, we wanted to change its concept and decided on a bookazine format, increasing the number of pages to 160 and creating a more lasting appearance. Alongside the paper version we are also launching an e-magazine and a new website."

There is no question that this platform restructure has resulted in a beautiful editorial product with beautiful and dramatic imagery. I stumbled upon Raw View browsing the photo magazine shelves in a book store in Montreal and I was initially taken back by the textural beauty of the publication. While flipping through the thick matte pages, I was impressed with the unique and beautiful photography content. This magazine is a must-buy publication for anyone interested in a variety of conceptual and documentary photography.

I believe that Raw View is one of the premier magazines on photography today. They continually go out of their way to search for photography that is of the highest caliber, and give a platform for new and older photographers who would probably not have the opportunity to get their works published.

Baby I like it raw

Thanks for sharing that fine piece. Worldwide delivery is awesome (especially as I live in Germany) and about 20$ per issue for 160 pages seems legit.

Thanks for the addition to my photobook-bookshelf :D
