[Pics] It Was The Last Flight Of Space Shuttle Enterprise And I Was There
On Friday I had the pleasure to see and photograph Space Shuttle Enterprise flying for the last time, and not just flying, but over one of the greatest cities in the world – New York City. Usually things like this used to be announced on the day of the event, leaving no time for preparations, but since the incident with Air Force One in 2009, All buildings next to the Hudson river get an official notice few days ahead of time about any ‘scary’ things that might happen around the Hudson river. I had about a week to decide where i’m going to shoot from, and ended up deciding to shoot from a downtown rooftop with my Nikon D800 and 70-200 f/2.8 lens.
It was a beautiful day to shoot, and the sky had a lot of clouds making a great backdrop for the shuttle. The only problem with the cloudy day was that as the Shuttle moved, the lighting on it changed – sometimes it was in the shade, and sometimes the sun hit it directly, so I had to change the settings for almost every shot I took.
The Shuttle flew twice right next to the rooftop I was shooting from, and then one more time but this time it was far away, giving me the option to take some different looking shots.
Here are few of the pictures I took, with the info about how I shot them:
