Beauty Retouching Part 2 - Stray Hairs: An FS PPT by Sean Armenta

Hello Fstoppers! My name is Sean Armenta, and this is my little spot on Fstoppers called The Post Production Tutorial. If you enjoy these videos, feel free to subscribe to my new Fstoppers PPT Youtube Channel for the latest updates. Feel free to connect with me on the right side bar and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have about retouching.

This week we have part two of my Beauty Retouching Workflow mini-series. We will be dealing with those pesky stray hairs while preserving the natural look of the hairstyle. We put to use some of the tools and techniques from my previous PPT videos, such as the Clone Stamp set to lighten, using the Healing Brush or Clone Stamp within a selection, and using the Pen Tool to make selections.

Many thanks once more for your continued support and encouragement!

Be sure to drop by my Prep To Post workshop website at www.preptopost.com for even more information on photography, lighting, and retouching. I have a Beauty Editorial Workshop coming up in Washington, DC on August 26th, and a Twitter contest on how to attend the workshop as a VIP guest.

Two sounds:

1. Ahhh... such masterful work, Sean

2. Uggh... the nefarious pen tool

Sean

Sean is a great photographer AND photoshopper. A match made in heaven. Great tutorial again! Can't wait to see more of your tutorials, so keep em coming.

I have to agree. Sean is amazing. A true inspiration.

You guys need to hurry up and get his dvd out so you can sell it to people. The stuff he teaches is the stuff you don't really learn in a school, but need if you want to work for the big time companies.

After this Peter Hurley project, I'm not sure I'll ever commit to another DVD again :)

i promise i'm not as high maintenance as peter :P

Excellent work again Sean. You make hair retouching look so easy, I absolutely hate it with a passion.

Good video Sean. Stray hairs will not be kicking my ass anymore

Really helping me advance.. Thanks Sean. If these vids were put together either as a HD download or HD DVD (yuck) i would happily buy it.

@seanarmenta:disqus Great tutorial! I'm was working alongside the video and applying some of the techniques here as well as from Part I.
I do find myself using the healing brush a little more than you did to kinda mimic what you did with the clone stamp tool and I didn't use the Patch tool at all though. lol I'll be sharing my image after I finish up and you guys can give me some tips on improvement if you please.

Thanks much. :)
