Using the Clone Stamp: An Fstoppers Post Production Tutorial by Sean Armenta

Hello Fstoppers! My name is Sean Armenta, and this is my little spot on Fstoppers called The Post Production Tutorial. If you enjoy these videos, feel free to subscribe to my new Fstoppers PPT Youtube Channel for the latest updates. In this episode, I discuss one of my most used Photoshop tools - the Clone Stamp. You may think there is no longer a use for this old school instrument what with the availability of the more sophisticated healing brush and its content aware amazingness, but it is still quite relevant for beauty retouching.

For those of you interested, I have a 2-day workshop coming up at the end of this month, where I will be discussing my experience when executing a fashion editorial from start to finish. Everything from conceptualization to post production will be explained. I will also be donating $10 towards Earthquake and Tsunami Relief for Japan for each person that attends For more info, please visit

I've always really liked your opening splash for f stoppers. Was that done in after effects? That be really awesome if you guys started to post some video making tutorials as well, just a suggestion :)

@Mark Fore, I don't know how to use after effects (yet) so that is why we use the help of Dan Dawley of Swell Motion Graphics ( He's awesome at this stuff so if you need a cool graphic for your photography business give him a shout!

Awesome and helping so much!
Really appreciate those tutorials!

ridiculously useful, same as all the previous ones! keep it up, it's fantastic work.

Love all of his tutorials! Really high quality and tons of useful stuff in there! Thanks a lot Sean!

Really liked this tutorial actually!
Even if its just for getting rid of the dark circles under somebodies eyes. I used to use the Patch tool and just got rid in one go, but this way seems to have a lot more control and seems a lot more subtle too!

This is the way I've started using the clone stamp tool over the last year or 2 and I'm glad to know someone as seasoned as Sean approves it since I usually do my photoshopping ass backwards :)

AWESOME! Thank you! So straight forward and useful! I appreciate it. Keep it up. You guys truly give me motivation to keep doing what I love and thats shooting.

This was great! Short and really useful. I never use this tool and I will definitely be adding to the workflow.

Hope to see more of these in the future.

Really loving the tutorials from Sean Armenta. I think you guys are really hitting the nail on things with the whole quick tip and it's great to see how to do pro grade postproduction. More like this!

Great tutorial for a tool that I think gets overlooked a little when it comes to photo editing.

I love Sean's tutorials. Practical and to the point. Very useful. Well done!
