*** Stand Up N Get Counted ***

Sometimes the Worst Weather Makes The best Shot.

Recipe Behind the Shot:

Three hours of wait for downpour to stop.
No telephoto lens to compress distance.
(Shot with Canon 100 mm Macro)
4 degree outside temperature.
Constant Spray of ice cold water.
A patient wife, agreeing to wait while I kept perfecting the composition.

Benefit of Worst Weather:

Less or almost no crowd, at one of the most popular place in Iceland.
Moody Atmosphere.

Lesson Learnt by Me:
No weather is bad weather.
Learn to Adapt and move on. :)

Unreal setting!

Like many other settings, Iceland is truely out of this world.

Thanks for the appreciation!

fantastic

Thanks Lee!

What a plesant surprise. Thank you for stopping by and liking both my photos.
Truely appreciate it.

Simply amazing!

Thank You!

Stunning shot! great job

Thanks!

Lovely. I've been there and it's not easy to get a shot so grand. You're right too - no weather is bad!

Thanks Mate!

SICK!

Nice lession you learned :) And of course: really nice shot. The contrasts contained in this photo is very unique. Between different colours, static and dynamic parts, man and nature...

Thanks Johny! I must say you have a very unique way of visualizing the scene.
I am flattered by your interpretation and compliment.

Isn't different interpretation of photos part of what keeps us photographers going? ;) Keep up the good work.

Oh Totally. :)

Excellent shot - I love the composition, you can almost feel the weight of the water.

Thanks Matt!

stunning shot (y)

Thanks Mate!

looks surprisingly similar to the image, apple use to promote their 5K iMac

almost exact location!

amazing photo! displays to me the absolute power of the earth and our existence in relation to the planet.

Hi Benjamin,

The image on apple website has a much wider angle of view. How ever my photo has a much tighter composition.

Both the shots are shoot at same location though.
Location: Skogafoss Waterfall, Iceland.

Thanks a lot for your appreciation!

Incredible shot. Really glad your wife is patient with you.

Thanks Richard!!!

What a great use of a tight crop. The shutter speed is perfect for the shot. Enough blue to feel cold. Great depth of shadows within the water.

Thanks Mikey! Appreciate your feedback :)

Great composition to make this shot. (I don't mean composite.) The best part on my computer was watching the photo roll down the screen and then there is the small bright color contrasting the vast curtain of waterfall creating the scale and grandeur.

Thanks Qaz for your appreciation!

I have only one word: WOW!

Makes me want to go to Iceland even more than I already do...and my bank account disagrees...

Great shot! Congrats on POTD!

Thanks Tyler! I know your feeling. I have been to Iceland twice.
But I can never have enough of it.

Iceland is the best place I have been to, and I have traveled a lot.

This Photo is Amazing! Love it :D
