The optical image stabilization feature has been great! When recording snap-zooms you do see the flicker of the f-stop adjusting, but it's not a big deal for the price. I may be missing something, because I can't find if this is a different lens then the one posted here? This was odd to me as it was the first time I ever purchased a non-Canon lens, but it was steeply discounted, so I thought I would get an okay lens to use as my walking around lens for my 'other' body. Now I do all of my headshots on it and probably 80% of all my shooting on it. I like it that much. It had been on sale for $290 when I bought it, so I am one happy camper. So, I do hope this lens is an upgrade as that would be quite remarkable.

I have the older model of this lens and it rapidly became my favourite lens. The AF was the worst I've ever witnessed. Even when trying to focus on a lamp with high contrast, it just stuttered back and forth before it gave up and failed. Quite a lot of CA as well. Worked alright for video, with manual focus though. This is regarding the old version of the lens.

I don’t know if I’ve dealt with two-three bad copies, but we bought some at work for some D7000 – and they’re terrible.
