When Whale Sharks and Models Pose Together

When it comes to whale sharks, Shawn Heinrich has been featured before for some of his incredible images. Kristian Schmidt, a fashion photographer who loves using wildlife in his shoots, recently teamed up with Shawn for an ambitious fashion shoot with the harmless sharks.

Working with several great models and some lighting help, the team captured an incredible sense of grace and beauty swimming with the gentle giants.

Great idea but the images are of terrible quality. Especially the second last one. It looks completely fake. The only one worth viewing is the first one. How do images of this quality keep getting published ?

It’s a shame these admittedly lovely images are doing little to help the plight of an already imperiled species. It may not seem like much, but the making of these will have done untold ecological damage.

Here is a better idea… do same but with white or bull sharks. Then it would be art :)
