By: Rhett Binghamhttp://fstoppers.com/the-first-review-of-canon-24-70mm-f2-8l-ii/comment-page-1#comment-49629 Rhett Bingham Fri, 07 Sep 2012 23:37:00 +0000 http://fstoppers.com/?p=49971#comment-49629 I have the Tamron 24-70 and have used it alongside the Nikon equivalent, and I do have to say the two lenses are almost identical.  I opted for the Tamron because of the VC for video but was pleasantly surprised as to how well it did.  Have used it in real world situations and LOVE IT!  the contrast and clarity are magnificent, the color saturation is in my own opinion better than the nikon version (just more pop).  The only thing that I have qualms about with this lens is the zoom ring, nothing bad at all it just is about 1/4 of an inch too long.  As in when I turn the Nikon from 24-70 it takes one twist of the wrist, the Tamron takes a whole twist and then a little extra to go to either extreme.  Nothing bad, just took me a few uses to get used to it.  Any other questions let me know!

I’ve seen the review here on stoppers; I was referring to those who’ve purchased it and used it on actual weddings and portrait shoots.
