              The Wednesday Rundown 3.2.11

Howdy, and welcome to the Wednesday Rundown. This week we have a couple killer shoots. One is an industrial shoot and the other a really cool boxing shoot that turns out great. There is also a video on wedding work flow. A reader takes us through his steps when shooting and editing a wedding. It can give you a good idea what you are getting into. If you have a video that you think we might like to post, please click on “submit content” above.

              Industrial Shoot:

I just love these industrial shoots. Something about the human body being around cold steel, or hanging off a building that just makes me thing what we are capable of creating. Check out this cool shoot and final images.

              Boxer Shoot:

Another great video sent in. This shoot makes it rain inside the studio and they shoot the boxers practicing on the punching bag. The final images are solid.

              Wedding Workflow:

This video takes us through the steps a photographer goes through for his weddings. This is good to give you an idea of what to expect and really how much time you will be giving to your projects, so make sure you price enough to put those hours in.

              Flashlight lighting Shoot:

This is something that is becoming more popular, shooting with continual lighting. It gives you the ability to see what the image will be like with out having to fire up the flashes and take the shot. This shot turns out really good, however I have never seen one done with this kind of flashlights, they have some serious power but they work in the end.

Nice collection this wednesday. But one question about the logic in video 2 (the boxer): why must there be rain? No clue, sorry.

That wedding video is excellent. When you work for yourself, it can be difficult to keep track of the hours you spend on work, and for me it also becomes a low priority.

@Manuel — not sure either but maybe it’s because if it’s raining and their hands are STILL on fire it means they’re that much more badass? :-)

For my two-cents, I really liked the wedding photographers video. I’m not a wedding photographer and I appreciated a breakdown of the REAL time-investment. Even better, Magnus’s video was cleverly done.

Rain on a boxer? Sure, why not? Just like those videos of wax and paint on plexiglas. It’s just something new and different.

Agree with Manuel – great collection this week. I wish my future clients watches the wedding video so they can understand why a photographer doesn´t work for peanuts. =)

Thanks for the comments guys. I will try to find informational videos for the backend of shooting and planning more often. It is nice when they come up. I like the rain with the female boxer, why not right? But it would be good also with out it.

I like the Wedding Workflow video to. Perfect for too economical clients. ;)
