Top Ten Images From Nikon’s Microscope Photography Competition

Nikon began a competition in the mid 1970s, Called “Small World“, where they recognized the work of creating stunning photographic images through a microscope. Each year they receive many amazing entries for a chance to win prizes. Since the subject matter and source of light can be anything an artist wants, the range of possibilities is nearly limitless. Winners receive money toward the purchase of Nikon gear, among other prizes. Head on over to Nikon’s gallery site to see galleries from past winning entries. The main image was the second place winner, taken by Walter Piorkowski. The subject is “Live newborn lynx spiderlings (6x)”. Here are the top ten.
