[Video] Behind The Scenes – OK Go’s Music Vid “Needing/Getting”

ok go excerpt [Video] Behind The Scenes OK Gos Music Vid Needing/Getting By now most of you have probably seen OK Go’s music video for “Needing/Getting”, either during the Superbowl or from the millions of people who circulated it across the web right after. They just released the first in a series of behind the scenes videos that show how they made this awesome ad, check it out!

              From their YouTube page description:

“OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they’d play the right note no matter where they were struck.”

Here is the behind the scenes video followed by the official vid in case you’re one of the few people who hasn’t seen this amazing video. Via [Wired].

Most of this does not sound 100% real to me. It sounds like it starts out real and then it fades into edited external sounds. I hope I’m wrong because this is awesome

Of course it’s not real. How could they achieve to get the bpm so constant (wich depends on the speed of the car).

Don’t think that they calculated speeds, accelerations etc. and that the driver achieved to follow the results.
