[Video] First 4K Short Film Shot on The Canon 1D-C DSLR

Shane Hurlbut was asked by Canon to produce a short film with the new Canon 1D-C. This past week at NAB he debuted this short, “The Ticket” in full 4K glory. Shane sings the cameras praises, and is equally impressed by the simplicity in it’s workflow, which he discusses in his blog post here. Hit the jump for the short film and tell me what you think of the quality. It’s hard to tell just how high quality it is on the web, but I think it looks impressive nonetheless!

The video is embedded on Shane’s site and looks like it’s locked, so for now we’ll have to view his short film on his blog post. I’ll get it posted right in the article when it’s made public.

I watched this in Vegas on the big screen in the Canon booth and it really looked horrible. Canon actually had to put a disclaimer up before you watched it that ” we are sorry to announce that Shane Hurlbut added noise and grain for artistic texture ” or something like that.. it was pretty scary.
It was actually a nice little story though… Director did a good job. Just wish it was shot better.

That was really cool. Love the story telling and all.
But it’s on Vimeo. Have they stepped they’re game up by allowing 4k resolution or Original resolution video to be presented? Most of the time I see something that says 4k, I look to the specs on the side and it would actually be a 1080 clip.

Well, if you guys hadn’t been relegated to just taking other people’s own blog content and reposting it (therefore taking away views they’d normally have on their blog), then people wouldn’t have even started locking embedding.
